Netiquette & Responsible Online Behavior
 

GOALS & OBJECTIVES:
ISTE: 2b Students engage in positive, safe, legal, and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices.

  • Rules for online etiquette (netiquette)

Activities
Students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate proper digital netiquette with online communication (discussion boards/feedback, email, class chat).

  • Create a THINK poster/display.

  • Distinguish between “safe” and “risky” online behavior.

What is etiquette? What is netiquette?

As a group, brainstorm a list of rules that we follow when interacting with other people in-person that we would describe as good etiquette.

EXPLORE

Use Zeoob to create social media postings and text conversations for students to sort based on appropriate netiquette.
